(Brookville, IN) – The United Way of Franklin and Ripley Counties (UWFC) announces more than $17,000 in community investments supporting local programs that provide food assistance, clothing, essential needs, and student support for families throughout the region.

Recent funding awards include:

  • $5,000 to Ripley County Community Foundation to support the Turnover Hunger Backpack program
  • $2,000 to Summer Food for Kids of Batesville through the Batesville United Methodist Church
  • $7,500 to Milan Cares Central for summer camp
  • $1,500 to So Loved Kids Clothing Closet to provide clothing and toiletries
  • $1,500 to Red Life Food pantry

UWFC Executive Director Kelly Bulmer says the investments reflect United Way’s commitment to ensure that children, families, and individuals across Franklin and Ripley counties have access to the resources they need to thrive.

“Every dollar entrusted to United Way is an opportunity to create meaningful change close to home,” Bulmer said. “Whether it is helping a child receive weekend meals, providing food for a family facing hardship, or ensuring someone has access to clothing and essential needs, these investments strengthen our entire community.”

She adds the funding supports programs that align with United Way’s focus on helping families meet essential needs, strengthen financial stability, and creating opportunities for children and youth to succeed.

“Our role is to bring people together to identify community needs, and invest in solutions that make a lasting difference,” Bulmer said. “These partnerships allow us to support organizations already doing incredible work while ensuring all donor dollars stay local and create impact where they’re needed most.”
