Four local players have been named to the 2026 Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association District 3 Boys Senior All-District Team. They are Trenten Luers and Brayden Maple from Batesville, and Milan’s Micah Norman and Gabe Riehle.

The Cincinnati Reds pounded the Colorado Rockies 8-1 in Cactus League baseball in Scottsdale, Arizona heard yesterday on WRBI. The Reds host the Milwaukee Brewers this afternoon in Goodyear. WRBI coverage begins following the 5 p.m. news block.

Reds pitcher Hunter Greene will have arthroscopic surgery in Los Angeles today to remove bone chips and loose bodies in his right elbow. He’s expected to be out until July. This will be the fifth straight season that Greene has spent time on the injured list.

The Sacramento Kings got by the Indiana Pacers 114-109 in NBA action heard late last night on the Sports Voice. Indiana went 0-4 on the West Coast road trip and has now lost 10 straight. The Pacers’ Andrew Nesmith led all scorers with 29 points. The Blue and Gold begins a two-game homestand tomorrow night when they play Phoenix.

Funeral arrangements have been announced for former Notre Dame Head Football Coach Lou Holtz, who died last week at the age of 89. Holtz will be honored with a visitation this Sunday and a funeral Mass on Monday at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on Notre Dame’s campus. The funeral service will be live-streamed online. Graveside services will be kept private. Memorials may be made to the Holtz Charitable Foundation or Holtz’s Heroes Foundation. He led Notre Dame to an undefeated season in 1988 and a national championship. He is also the only college football coach to lead six different programs to bowl games and the only coach to guide four different programs to the final top 15 rankings. Holtz was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008.
