South Ripley beat Jac-Cen-Del 85-57 in boys’ basketball heard last night on the Sports Voice. The Raiders end the regular season at 18-5 overall and claim the outright ORVC championship at 6-0. The Eagles finish the regular year at 4-18 and 3-3. Ripley’s Drew Volz led all scorers with 27 points. Teammate Eli Gilpin was close behind with 22; Dylan Jessee had 13, and senior Bryson Sipples scored 10 points in his final home game. Darian Grieshop led JCD with 24 points while Blake Wagner added 20.

Elsewhere around the area last night, Greensburg defeated East Central 61-51. With the Trojans loss, Batesville wins the outright EIAC title; and Milan tripped Union County 70-47. The Indians’ Gabe Riehle surpassed the 1,000 career point mark in that contest. 

Congratulations to Kaiya Rinear from South Ripley and Greensburg’s Aly Powers. They’ve been named to the 2026 Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association Girls East All-Star team. A total of 26 girls hoops players from across the state – 13 for the East team and 13 for the West – were selected.

The Los Angeles Angels got past the Cincinnati Reds 4-3 in Cactus League baseball yesterday in Goodyear, Arizona. The Reds visit the Milwaukee Brewers in Maryvale this afternoon. Airtime on 103.9 FM is 2:55. Tomorrow, the Reds and Athletics meet up in Mesa. Coverage on 103.9 FM begins at 2:50 tomorrow afternoon.
