Gene Rosemeyer, age 75 of Sunman

Gene “Fuzzy” Rosemeyer, 75, passed away on December 21, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on February 28, 1950, in Batesville, Indiana, Gene lived a life marked by dedication to his work, love for his family, and a deep connection to the land.

Gene devoted 44 years of his career to Hill-Rom, where he built a legacy of hard work and commitment before retiring in 2013. His long tenure reflected not only his strong ethics but also the loyalty and perseverance that defined much of his life.

He was a loving husband to Kathy, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Together they raised two children: their daughter Gina and son David. Gene also cherished his role as a grandfather to Payten and held a special bond with his son-in-law David.

Outside of work and family life, Gene found joy in farming and gardening. Whether tending crops or cultivating flowers and vegetables, he took pride in working with his hands and being close to nature. These passions were more than hobbies—they were reflections of his grounded spirit and appreciation from honest labor.

Gene was known for speaking plainly and truthfully—he told it like it was, whether you liked it or not. This straightforwardness earned him respect from those who knew him best. His presence brought strength and clarity to every room he entered.

He was preceded in death by his father George Rosemeyer, mother Helen Rosemeyer, and brother Larry Rosemeyer.

Gene will be deeply missed by Kathy, Gina, David, Payten, son-in-law David, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life with honesty and heart.

In keeping with Gene’s wishes, cremation was chosen and there will be no services held. If you wish to make a memorial contribution in honor of Gene, they may be directed to the Sunman Area Life Squad—Rescue 20. Donations may be mailed to 403 N. Meridian Street, Sunman, Indiana 47041.
