Batesville knocked off Milan 76-62 in boys basketball heard last night on the Sports Voice. The victorious Bulldogs were led by Trenten Luers, who scored 20 points; Brayden Maple added 18; Kamryn Holcomb chipped in 15, and James Hughes scored 10. The Indians Gabe Riehle led all scorers with 27 points; Micah Norman added 15, and Grant Langferman contributed 10. Batesville improves to 4-0 while Milan dips to 0-3. BHS also claimed the JV contest 73-24. Jackson Peetz led the Bulldogs with 14 points: Winston Garrett and Camden Kaiser had 12 a piece, and Levi Hunt added 10.

In girls action last night, South Ripley dumped Shawe 46-21. The Raiders Claire Samples scored a game-high 20 points while teammate Kaiya Rinear added 11. South Ripley is now 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the ORVC…Jac-Cen-Del turned back Rising Sun 56-37, and it was Rising Sun 55 Milan 38.

Franklin County visits Oldenburg Academy in girls basketball tonight. WRBI airtime will be around 7:15.

Batesville swept Milan in boys middle school basketball last night. It was the 7th grade Bulldogs over the Indians 45-12. Miles Lawrence paced BMS with 10 points. The 7th grade squad ends the 2025 portion of its schedule at 11-5. The Batesville 8th graders rolled 42-7.  They head into January at 15-0.

St. Louis and South Ripley split in boys middle school hoops in Versailles. The Cardinals won the 7th grade contest 39-19. Nathaniel Fuentes scored 14 and Carter Meyer added 10 for St. Louis, which is now 6-3. The Raiders took the 8th grade game 54-34. Cam Walke led St. Louis with 15.

The New York Knicks got past the Indiana Pacers 114-113 in NBA action heard last night on WRBI. Paskal Siakam led all scorers with 26. Indiana has lost three in a row and falls to 6-21 on the year. The Pacers are back in action tomorrow night at New Orleans.

The Cincinnati Reds have announced the signing of free agent left handed reliever Caleb Ferguson to a one-year contract worth a reported $4.5 million. Ferguson split last year with Pittsburgh and Seattle. With Ferguson’s signing, the Reds 40-man roster is at capacity.
