Class 4A #16 East Central routed Franklin County 51-26 in girls high school basketball heard last night on the Sports Voice. The Trojans Audrina Dugan led all scorers with 17 points. Teammate Natalie Stenger added 16. Ruby Singer paced the Wildcats with 11.

In other games around the area, South Ripley retains the Pride Trophy with a 65-22 win over Milan. The Raiders Claire Samples and Kaiya Rinear each tossed in 16 points, and Aubrey Werner added 10. Samples reached the 500 career point milestone in the game…Franklin Community knocked off Class 3A #2 Greensburg 62-56. The Pirates fall to 1-1…And it was Shawe Memorial over Jac-Cen-Del 64-37.

Batesville took two from South Ripley in boys middle school basketball. It was the Bulldogs over the Raiders in the 7th grade game 39-10, while BMS claimed the 8th grade contest 49-14.

St. Louis 8th grade boys basketball traveled to Greensburg and got past St. Mary’s 48-47.  Cam Walke was fouled when he made a jumper to tie the game, and completed the three-point play with four seconds remaining to give the Cardinals the win. Walke led St. Louis with 28 points while Evan Jennings added 12.

The Utah Jazz rolled over the Indiana Pacers 152-128 in NBA action heard last night on WRBI. The Pacers how now dropped five straight and fall to 1-10 on the year. Paskal Siakam led Indiana with 27 points. Andrew Nembhard added 25.

The Cincinnati Reds Terry Francona finished second in voting for the 2025 National League Manager of the Year award to the Milwaukee Brewers Pat Murphy, who wins for the second straight yar. Francona guided the Reds to an 83-79 record and an NL Wild Card berth after coming out of a one-year retirement. Francona earned 49 points and two of the 30 first-place votes in ballots cast by members of the Baseball Writers Association of America. Philadelphia Phillies manager Rob Thomson finished third. Cleveland’s Stephen Vogt won the American League Manager of the Year award for the second straight year.

Ohio State remains at the top of the College Football Playoff rankings for the second consecutive week, with the Indiana Hoosiers holding onto the second spot and Texas A&M in third. In the latest rankings released Tuesday night, Alabama and Georgia completed the top five. The playoff bracket will be finalized on December 7, with the 12-team playoff starting on December 19. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish moved up from 10th to 9th in the latest rankings.

In college basketball, Notre Dame pulled away in the second half to beat Eastern Illinois 78–58 inside Purcell Pavilion Tuesday night. Markus Burton led the Irish with 21 points, while Braeden Shrewsberry drained six three-pointers, and Carson Towt grabbed 11 rebounds. The Irish dominated the glass, turning 17 offensive boards into 17 second-chance points. The Irish are now 3-0 going into Sunday’s game at Ohio State…The Butler Bulldogs breezed past Chicago State at Hinkle Fieldhouse 98-66. Finly Bizjack hit five three-pointers and totaled 22 points.
