Peter “Pete” Anthony Aleccia Jr., 74

Peter “Pete” Anthony Aleccia Jr., 74, of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on November 8, 2025, surrounded by love and family. Born on October 22, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan, Pete lived

a life filled with faith, humor, generosity, and an unshakable love for those closest to him.

Pete was the son of the late Peter Aleccia Sr. and Rosalia Aleccia. He attended Clinton Dale schools in Michigan and later built a rewarding career in the hospitality industry, where his warm personality and dedication made everyone feel welcome.

A man of deep Catholic faith, Pete lived his life guided by compassion and kindness. He had a generous heart—always supporting charities and helping others quietly and sincerely. His favorite saying, “Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!” captured his joyful spirit and playful sense of humor that touched everyone who knew him.

Pete found joy in life’s simple pleasures: reading, music, sports, faith-based activities, and spending time with his family. He was especially fond of watching Tyler Perry films and Christmas movies, which reflected his love for stories of love, laughter, and redemption. Even when he wasn’t feeling his best, Pete could often be found dancing, walking (even in his wheelchair), or taking in the sights around him. His zest for life was inspiring.

He was deeply proud of his son, Chris, and often said that becoming a father was one of his greatest blessings. Pete also cherished his grandchildren and great-granddaughter, taking every opportunity to share stories, laughter, and wisdom.

Pete is survived by his beloved son Christopher (Barb) Aleccia; grandchildren Jay (Julieann) Weber Jr., Katelyn Weber, Jacob Aleccia-Greet, and Makenna Greet; and great-granddaughter Nancy Weber. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Hazel Aleccia; his father and mother; his brothers, Vito Aleccia and Tom Aleccia; and his step-children David Bentley, Dennis Bentley, and Felicia Bentley.

Pete will be remembered for his kindness, strength, generosity, and unwavering faith. His legacy lives on in the laughter of his family, the warmth he gave to friends, and the countless lives he touched.

“Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!”—words that will forever bring a smile to those who loved him.
