Michael Brock Wilson, age 83 of Brookville

Michael Brock Wilson, of Brookville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the age of 83, in the arms of his beloved wife, Jeannie. He was born on October 9, 1941, in Greensfork, Indiana, the cherished son of Lewis E. and Lola Rosalie Wilson.

In 1960, Mike and his parents moved to Brookville, where they purchased the feed mill that became Wilson Feed Market. For over 50 years, it wasn’t just a business, it was a cornerstone of the community and a testament to their family’s hard work and dedication. Alongside running the mill, Mike worked the land as a crop farmer and raised livestock, including chickens, hogs, and cattle, on the family farm.

On February 6, 1962, he married the love of his life, Lola Jean Hawkins. Together, Mike and Jeannie built a life filled with love, laughter, and purpose. They were inseparable, whether working side by side or enjoying life’s simple pleasures. Their bond was a rare and beautiful thing — soulmates in every sense.

Mike had a deep appreciation for history, particularly old farm machinery and equipment. More than 30 years ago, that passion led to the founding of the Franklin County Antique Machinery Club — an idea born at his kitchen table, brought to life with a few like-minded friends. His collection of antique tractors and tools grew over the years, each piece holding a story he was proud to share.

A man of quiet service, Mike gave generously of his time and heart. He served on the Brookville Town Board for 12 years, was a proud member of the Brookville Harmony Masonic Lodge No. 11 and the Scottish Rite, and spent five decades as a member of the Brookville Volunteer Fire Department, including time as Fire Chief. Whether it was rescuing a stranded neighbors cat from a tree or pulling a car from a ditch, Mike was always the first to show up and the last to leave.

Those who knew him best will remember his kind heart, his easy smile, and his love for “piddling” around with his antique tractors. He had a knack for finding treasures at antique shops—always bringing home something that “spoke to him.” He also had a love for racing, especially Formula 1, NASCAR and the NHRA. But more than anything, Mike will be remembered for the love he shared so freely — with family, friends, and his community.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of over 63 years, Jeannie Wilson; their three children, Shelli Brier, Mike Wilson, and Jeff Wilson; two grandchildren, Natalie and Nicholas Brier; his sister, Jane Wilson Gengler; his faithful and loving K9 companion, Ginger; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, including Jerry and Debbie Back, Don and Debbie Simmermeyer, and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Lola Rosalie Wilson.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville.
