Gary Dwight Dieselberg, age 78, passed away peacefully at home on August 7, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. Gary was born September 29, 1946 to Frank John and Glenna Belle Dieselberg in Batesville, IN. He is survived by his wife Janice (nee Hartman), children Chad (Jeni) Dieselberg, Jared Dieselberg, Ann (Clay) Bovard, grandchildren Claire (Trevor) Henderson, Jocelyn and Gianna Dieselberg, Bradley (Ally) Barry, Brett and Nolan Dieselberg, Zachary, Ryan, and Luke Bovard, and Journey Cobb. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Beth, and his parents.
Gary was in the Millwright union, retiring from General Electric Aviation in 2014 after 30 years. Gary took pride in providing for his family, passing his work ethic on to his children and grandchildren. His true love was his family and his homestead, working his entire life on the family farm. He built his family home, spending much time cutting wood, putting up fence and building the family pond. He loved animals, raising cattle, riding mules and taking care of many cats and dogs.
Gary married his high school sweetheart, Janice, on June 3, 1969, spending 56 years together. His joy came from simple things, spending time with his family, attending many of his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, fixing whatever was broken, telling stories, and riding mules with family and friends. In his younger days he loved riding Harley’s and fixing up bikes to put back on the road.
