Howard “Budd” Ryle, 88

Howard “Budd” Ryle, 88, of Greensburg, passed away on July 3, 2025.
Born on September 17, 1936, in Greensburg, Budd was the son of James “Buck” Ryle and Audrey (Starks) Ryle. He was a proud 1954 graduate of Greensburg High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1957.
Budd was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 129, where he served in many roles, including the Funeral Honor Guard, providing tribute to fellow veterans with deep respect and dignity.
He served the community in many ways, including 12 years on the Animal Control Board, where he played a key role in the establishment of the local animal shelter—an effort that combined his love for animals with his commitment to public service.
Budd retired in 2002 after 42 years at KS Bearings (formerly Bohn Aluminum), where his work ethic and loyalty were well known and deeply respected.
He is survived by his beloved wife, June Ryle; children, Tim (Janet) Ryle, Wade (Tammi) Ryle, and daughter Natalie McClintic; grandchildren, Alyssa (Dale) Reincke, Braiden (Kayla) Ryle, and Karigan Ryle; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, David (Patty) Ryle; sisters, Sara Smith and Anni (Jerry) Gerkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Barbara “Snookie” Evans; brother, James “Jim” Ryle, Jr.; and his son-in-law, Nate McClintic.
Budd will be remembered for his steadfast service, quiet strength, sense of humor, and the deep love he held for his family, community, and country.

A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a visitation will follow from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral Mass at 1:00 pm. Father Stan Pondo will be officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greensburg Animal Shelter, American Legion Post 129, or to Our Hospice of Decatur County.
