Franklin Donald Huber, age 92, of Sunman, Indiana, was born on March 4, 1933, at the family farm. He was the son of the late Joseph and Mable Smith Huber. Frank was drafted into the Army in 1953 and proudly served until 1955. He successfully received his crane operator license while stationed at Fort Leonard Wood. After serving his country, Frank returned home and worked as a bricklayer while working on the family farm. Frank eventually took over the Huber farm full-time with help from his siblings. He enjoyed plowing, mowing, planting, and taking care of the cattle. Frank was an avid reader and kept up with the latest farming journals but also enjoyed watching the local, national, and international news. He enjoyed going to tractor shows with Robert and you could often see them there driving around in the golf cart. Frank’s nephew David took over the farm work after Frank wasn’t physically able, but we all knew that Frank was still in charge. Frank looked forward to his evenings with David, often watching his game shows, golf, and westerns. His niece Lisa provided Frank with invaluable care and support. Frank enjoyed spending time with all his family. He passed peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at St. Andrews in Batesville, surrounded by family.
Surviving to cherish and remember Frank are his sisters, Ellen (Clark) Quisenberry of Clothier, WV, Bertha Sarringhaus of Batesville, IN; brother Norbert (Jeannie) Huber of Batesville, IN; nieces Ginger Holtvoigt, Lisa Reeder, Paula Jane Reed, Tonya Cremeans, Julie Sarringhaus, Molly Stricker, Edie Sarringhaus, Lori Sarringhaus, Connie Phillips, and Deborah Quisenberry; nephews David Huber, Timothy Huber, Brian Huber, Terry Huber, Thomas Huber, Victor Sarringhaus, Mitchell Sarringhaus, Daniel Quisenberry, and Jerry Quisenberry, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
