(Greensburg, IN) – A National FFA Professional Development Grant from the Lilly Endowment of $2,500 was recently awarded to Katie Morman, an agricultural educator at the North Decatur FFA Chapter.

This grant is part of a statewide initiative in which 25 Indiana agricultural teachers were selected through a competitive application process. The grant provides individual Indiana school-based agricultural educators the opportunity to engage in professional development focused on emerging trends in agriculture and engagement for a sense of belonging in all students.

“This grant will enable me to attend the 2025 NAAE Convention in Nashville, Tennessee, where I aim to enhance my teaching practices. With over 80 workshops specifically designed for agricultural education, I will have the opportunity to explore the latest trends, strategies, and tools in my field. Collaborating with other professionals will inspire innovative approaches to foster a more inclusive, dynamic, and impactful learning environment. I am eager to gain a comprehensive understanding of current innovations in education, leadership, and career development, which will not only improve my teaching but also contribute to my growth as a professional,” Morman said.

The National FFA Organization, in partnership with the Lilly Endowment, aims to support agricultural educators in expanding their expertise to better serve students across Indiana.
