The Reds scored seven runs in the top of the 10th inning to beat the Marlins 10-4 in Miami last night. It’s the first time the Reds scored seven runs in an extra inning since they plated seven in the 11th inning on June 13, 1985 against the Atlanta Braves. Reds starter Hunter Greene had a no-decision, but extended his scoreless innings streak to 24 before it came to an end in the Marlins three-run 4th inning. It’s the longest such streak by a Reds starter since Tom Browning’s 25-inning scoreless streak that ran from June 6-25 1989. Also part of the historic night, manager David Bell was ejected in the 7th inning for the 31st time in his career. Bell surpasses Sparky Anderson for the franchise record. The Reds took three out of four games in the Miami series and now head to Milwaukee, where they will go up against the National League Central Division-leading Brewers in a three-game weekend series. Carson Spiers starts tonight for Cincinnati. Coverage begins at 7:40 on 103.9 WRBI.
