There is still no confirmation of a tornado touching down in Franklin County on Monday night. The National Weather Service out of Wilmington, Ohio was scheduled to send a group down to survey storm damage from Monday evening but the Franklin County Emergency Management Agency arranged for drone photos to be taken then sent to the National Weather Service for an official decision. Franklin County EMA did confirm that the Stenger Farm at Oxford Pike and Holland Road was hit by Monday’s storms. Both the house and building where maple syrup is made were damaged and there were downed trees and corn crop flattened. Another farm nearby lost a shed according to EMA Director Amy Lindsey.
The National Weather Service says the entire listening area will experience hot and humid conditions today. A combination of heat and humidity will lead to heat index values close to 100 degrees by this afternoon. Those with plans for outdoor activities should take extra precaution and drink plenty of fluids. Lightweight and loose-fitting clothing is also recommended. The entire listening area is under a slight risk for severe weather today as conditions could trigger storms. There is a favorable chance for severe weather by Thursday afternoon and evening according to the National Weather Service.
