(Greensburg, IN) – Main Street Greensburg has elected its new board of directors.
Caleb Robertson with Phase Financial has been elected president, and says he has several qualities that will help him in heading up the board.
“Being young and ambitious, I think I am more of a risk taker and at this point I think we, not necessarily take risks, but we need to try to take more opportunities and take advantage of local groups and non-profits, which can definitely help us in the future,” Robertson said.
The organization has taken on a rehab project at an abandoned building at 132 North Franklin Street on the square, as part of a public/private partnership with the City of Greensburg.
“I think it’s important to know where our money’s going from a city standpoint, a federal standpoint and with grants and funding, and I think my construction background is definitely going to help on evaluating the scope of work with the contractors on these projects and making sure they’re done efficiently and on time,” he said.
Robertson said his goals as board president include unifying groups and business owners, especially from an economic standpoint.
“Economic vitality is a committee on Main Street and it’s definitely important to be involved with the business owners and making sure we’re evaluating their needs, as well,” Robertson said.
The other newly-elected officers are vice president Phillip Deiwert,; Judi Ramer as secretary, and Treasurer Rose Cronley, who recently resigned as Main Street Greensburg executive director.
Robertson said the organization is in the process of hiring a new director.
Outgoing officers are Mayor Joshua Marsh, president; Jarrad Klosterkemper, vice president, and Amber Coyne, treasurer.
