(Batesville, IN) – The director of the Batesville Memorial Public Library says you will be updated on the planned Arts and Innovation Hub project.
“We’re going to be keeping the community up to date via our website, and anytime you have any questions, feel free to come in and talk to me or any of our board members,” said Kim Porter. “We are very transparent. Our (library board meeting) minutes are on our website, as well.”
Porter made those comments on Thursday’s edition of WRBI’s The Daily Pod, following last month’s Batesville City Council approval of the library’s request to sell $6.1 million in bonds for the proposed hub, which would be built directly south of the current facility, which was built in 1988.
“Board meetings are also open to the public,” she added. “Just like a city council or the county council, all of those meetings are ‘open door’ and you are welcome to come to our board meetings, which are advertised on our website, and our community bulletin board.”
Bonds are expected to be issued in the fall of 2024, with construction on the estimated 8,000-square-foot facility slated to begin in 2025.
