Loretta E. Macyauski, age 90 of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 10, 2023, with her family by her side. Loretta was born January 11, 1933 in Greensburg, Indiana. She is the daughter of Laura (Nee: Lamping) and Henry Trumme.
Loretta was a paint sprayer for the Batesville Casket Company for over 55 years, before retiring in 2011. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church – St. John Campus where she enjoyed participating in the church choir. She was also a member of the Decatur County Extension Homemakers Club.
Loretta was a lifelong lover of horses. She also loved gardening and continued to garden into her late 80s. Baking and cooking for her family was another passion of hers. According to her family, her fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy was the best they ever had. No matter what she cooked or baked, it was always amazing.
Loretta also enjoyed quilting for her loved ones. She made many kinds of quilts over the years, which she gave to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as keepsakes.
Loretta enjoyed spending time with family. She loved having help in the garden as well as teaching them to quilt.
Loretta is survived by her sons Tim (Kathy Gausman) Macyauski of Batesville and Randy Macyauski of Greensburg; daughter Cindy (Greg) McCord of Greensburg; grandchildren Brandi (Jason) Skaggs, Ryan Macyauski, Claire (Brian) Porter, Kate Macyauski and Alyssa (Kyle) Lusk; great-grandchildren Kami Newton, Karaline Newton, Keiran Lusk, Keegan Lusk, Phoenix Macyauski, Margaux Macyauski, Walker Lusk, Brady Porter, and Bryce Porter. In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her sisters Clara Sager, Gertrude Gehring, Helen Bessler, and Frieda Dyer.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 16th, from 9 – 11a.m. at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville. The Mass of Christian Burial will then follow at St. Catherine of Siena Church at 11:30a.m. – St. John Campus in Enochsburg, Indiana. Rev. Bill Ehalt will be officiating. The burial will follow at the church cemetery.
