At 1A Sectional 60 Friday hosted by Southwestern Shelby, Jac-Cen-Del looked more like the Ripley County and ORVC championship team that Eagle fans have been used to seeing this season.  JCD powered its way past Waldron 74-60 during the first of two semifinals.

The Osgood guys led 20-13 at the end of the first quarter and 34-24 at the half.

Wyatt Day’s 11 points and 10 from Caleb Simon paced the Nesters. Lucas Mitchell posted 12 for the Mohawks and teammate Bryce Yarling put in eight.

Jac shot lights out in the third quarter (9/13) as Waldron could not keep the Eagles away from the rim.  Jac-Cen-Del doubled its lead to 20 by the end of the period, 38-28, and went on to win by 16.

The Hawks got 26 from Mitchell and 17 via Yarling.

Jac-Cen-Del hit 57 percent from the field (29/57). Waldron shot a respectable 45 percent (23/51).  The Eagles had a 10-6 advantage at the line and outrebounded the Mohawks by nine (30-21).

In game two, Hauser was an easy 61-28 winner over Oldenburg.

Much of the second half was played with a running clock.  It was 49-12 at the third quarter stop.  Both teams fully subbed for the final 3:15. OA scored 16 in the fourth thanks to a collection of four late three balls.  The final margin was 33.

For the Jets, Johnson scored 16, Miller contributed 13, Bates booked 10 and Cole Renner netted nine.  For the Twisters, Streator’s nine were a team high.  Both Nick Folop and Caleb Greiwe added five.
