Important reminders about COVID-19

Versailles, IN —As Ripley County, as well as most of the region, is experiencing a large uptick of positive COVID-19 cases in the past week, The Ripley County Health Department would like to give a few friendly reminders. As of Thursday, the state of Indiana is experiencing the most hospitalized COVID-19 patients since March when the pandemic started.

They would like to remind you that while having a pending COVID-19 test, it is important to have limited exposure to other individuals. If you test positive for COVID-19, it is extremely important to let everybody that you have been around in the past 48 hours aware of your recent diagnosis. Please then stay home for at least 10 days or symptom-free without the use of medication for at least 72 hours, whichever is longer.

If you are contacted by your local health department or a positive individual that you are a close contact with, please stay home at least 14 days from the last day of exposure. If you are beginning to experience symptoms, please be tested or seek medical attention. If you do test positive, please stay home for at least 10 days after symptom onset or symptom-free for at least 72 hours, whichever is longer. If you are a close contact, a negative test does NOT remove the 14-day quarantine.
