Bill Rosenberger

William “Bill” Rosenberger, of Brookville, was born on May 22, 1934 in Franklin County, the eldest son of Howard C. and Bertha Reuss Rosenberger.  He married Marilyn F. Steinard on April 14, 1956 at St. Michael Catholic Church and she survives.  Bill served his country in Korea as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army.  He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Franklin County EMS 2, Blooming Grove Fire Department, Brookville American Legion, the Knights of Columbus – 4th degree, and was an honorary board member of Fairbrook Manor.  Bill was a former owner of Rosenberger’s Market from 1964 to 1994, and enjoyed sharing his quit-wit as the local butcher. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, growing apples and making cider.  On Friday, September 2, 2016 at the age of 82, Bill passed away at Ambassador Healthcare in Centerville.

 

Those surviving who will cherish Bill’s memory include his wife of 60 years, Marilyn Rosenberger; children, Beth (Kurt) Riedman, Tammy (Scott) Stirn, and Todd Rosenberger; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Larry (Marilyn), Kenny (Myrna), and Bernie (Terri) all of Brookville; sisters, Carol (Marvin) Ferkinhoff of Brookville, and Linda (Larry) Gillespie of Vero Beach, FL, Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dick Rosenberger, 2 infant siblings, and godson, Dickie Rosenberger.

 

Friends may visit with the family on Monday, September 5, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville.  Rosary will be recited at 3:15.  Father Sean Danda will officiate the Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church.  Burial with military honors provided by the Bernard Hurst Post #77 Brookville American Legion, will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.
