(Franklin County, IN) – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several vehicle thefts in the southeastern part of the county.
Deputies say evidence indicates the stolen vehicles were unlocked and keys were left inside.
The sheriff’s office says there are a few simple precautions you can take to protect your property:
- Lock your vehicles.
- Never leave your keys in your vehicle.
- Remove or secure valuables that are visible.
- Lock your home and outbuildings.
“Criminals often look for easy opportunities,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.” Taking a few extra seconds to secure your vehicle and home can go a long way toward preventing theft. Don’t be an easy target.”
If you see suspicious activity, deputies say you should report it to law enforcement immediately.
