Norma J. Rhodus Grubbs McIntyre, 77, of Aurora, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016, surrounded by family.
She was born on July 31, 1939 to Norman and Helen (Favorite) Rhodus at Hagerstown, IN. She worked as a Mother Goose preschool teacher for 15 years, then worked for Farm Bureau Insurance Company retiring after over 15 years of service. Norma was a former member of the Rising Sun Yacht Club. She used to enjoy boating with her loving husband of 22 years, “Mac”. She loved music and loved to dance at the Dearborn Adult Center. She also enjoyed walking, at home or by the river. Norma was a very helpful person and had a classic, timeless beauty, inside and out. She loved spending time with family, especially the grandchildren. She was loved by everyone and she will be missed by all.
Norma is survived by her children, Carrie (Duane) Hollman of Milan, IN, Cliff Grubbs of Aurora, IN, Scott Grubbs of NM; brother, Max “Bud” (Connie) Rhodus of Hagerstown, IN; grandchildren, Amanda Hollman, Chelsey Grubbs, Cassie Grubbs, Michael Asbury, Stuart Asbury and Courtney Grubbs; great grandchild, Harley Asbury.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman & Helen Rhodus, husband, Kenneth R. “Mac” McIntyre, brother, Oliver “Ollie” Rhodus and step sister, Jean Rhodus.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2016, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at First Baptist Church , 6060 Blair Road, Aurora, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm, at the church with Pastor Nancy Nichols officiating.
