The Brewers beat the Reds 7-2 last night in Milwaukee in a game heard on WRBI. Rhett Lowder took the loss and falls to 3-6. He went 4 2/3 innings and gave up six earned runs on 11 hits with one walk and eight strike outs. Sal Stewart drove in both of Cincinnati’s runs, including his 16th home run of the season in the 1st inning. Stewart added an RBI double in the 6th. Game three of the series is tonight. The starting pitching matchup features a pair of lefthanders. Andrew Abbott (5-4 ,3.90 Earned Run Average) goes for the Reds; the Brewers with counter Shane Drohan (3-2, 3.12 ERA). Before last night’s game, the Reds activated from the 15-day injured list closer Emilio Pagan (left hamstring strain); optioned to Triple-A Louisville righthanded pitcher Zach McCambley; placed on the 10-day injured list outfielder Dane Myers (left shoulder contusion); and selected from Louisville infielder/outfielder Ivan Johnson.
Former Indiana and UC quarterback Brendan Sorsby and the NFL Players Association will not pursue litigation after the NFL decided not to hold a supplemental draft this year. Sorsby will instead shift his focus on preparing for the 2027 NFL Draft. In a statement, Sorsby accepted responsibility for his actions and is concentrating on treatment and recovery from a gambling addiction. He admitted to betting more than $90,000 and making 40 wagers on IU football while he was on the team.
Hinkle Fieldhouse will host the NBA Cup Championship this coming season. The 2026-27 title game will be played in the historic venue on the Butler University campus in Indianapolis on December 11. It will mark the first time the Cup final will be held outside of Las Vegas, which hosted the championship game for the first three in-season tournaments.
