Safe Passage Receives Money From Lawrenceburg Council

LAWRENCEBURG — Not-for-profit organization Safe Passage is receiving funding assistance from the City of Lawrenceburg.

City Council agreed to contribute $6,000 to the Batesville-based organization that provides domestic violence victim services through Southeastern Indiana.

Lawrenceburg joins the list of other local governments that have provided funding, including Rising Sun, Dearborn County, Ripley County, Oldenburg, Sunman and Switzerland County.

Safe Passage receives nearly half of its funding from state and local governments.

According to the Dearborn County Register, Safe Passage is locating an office in Lawrenceburg due to growing needs from the public.

The organization provides services primarily for residents of Dearborn, Franklin, Ohio, Ripley and Switzerland Counties; however the group offers assistance to anyone who contacts the Helpline.
