A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly.
A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur.
The National Weather Service says a combination of strong winds out of the Southwest at 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph; relative humidity as low as 16 percent, and temperatures in the low-to-mid 60s have prompted forecasters to issue the alerts.
Any fires that develop will spread quickly during the period.
Outdoor burning is not recommended, and smokers are urged not to throw cigarettes out of a vehicle or throw them on the ground, especially around grassy areas or mulch.
