Police investigating string of Versailles car break-ins

VERSAILLES, Ind. – Authorities are looking for more information after several break-ins on Monday morning in Versailles.

According to police, over twenty cars and several garages were broken into between 2 and 4 a.m. Monday.

Versailles Police Chief Joe Mann said it occurred along several streets including Colvin Drive, Floyd Avenue, Fern Drive and Jarvis Drive.

Investigators have determined that all of the cars and garages were unlocked.

“These vehicles here, every vehicle that was broken into were unlocked,” Mann said. “ I think a lot of vehicles that were locked were checked, and they just kept on going.”

Victims report missing a variety of items ranging from money, cigarettes, a camera and tools.
