Police: Brother Injured By Gunshot During Dispute  

METAMORA — A fight between two brothers led to a shooting Monday afternoon leaving one with a gunshot wound to the left hand, police said.

Franklin County Deputies were called to a home in the 18000 block of Hundley Road in Metamora around 4:10 p.m., to the report of a fight between two brothers ending in one being shot in the hand and the other sustaining facial injuries.

Officers found Steven Michael Kelley, 42, with a gunshot wound to the hand. He was rushed to Margaret Mary Health in Batesville.

The brother, Douglas Kelley, 59, was located at a separate residence on Hundley Road. He was taken into custody without incident. Before being taken to jail Douglas was transported to Fayette Regional Hospital in Connersville for a cut on his face.

Douglas is facing charges for Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon as a level 6 felony. If convicted he could receive from six months to 2 ½ years in prison.

Deputies say the incident remains under investigation and charges are pending on Steven Kelley.
