Kudos to The Greensburg Pirates on winning The Class 3A Regionals at Washington.
In the first game, Greensburg defeated The Sliver Creek Dragons 70-60. In Game 2 The Evansville Memorial Tigers beat The Jasper Wildcats 72-43.
In the Regional Finals, The Pirates successfully defended their Regional Crown by defeating Evansville Memorial Tigers 73-50 to claim their 8th Regional Title in school history. It also marks the second time that The Pirates won back-to-back Regional Championships. The only other time that it happened was back in the 1966 and 1967 Seasons.
The 3A #1 Greensburg Pirates will square off against The 3A #2 Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles in The Semi-States at Richmond for the right to play in The State Finals. This will be a matchup against the past two Class 3A State Champions. Tipoff time will be at 4 PM. WRBI’s coverage will be after the 3 PM News with our Countdown To Tipoff.
