BATH TOWNSHIP, Ind.– A Brookville driver was aircared after a single-vehicle accident on Wednesday.

The crash occurred on Springfield Road, approximately a half mile south of Bath Rd.

Investigators say a 2010 Chevrolet HHR was northbound when the vehicle went off the west side of the road and struck a cement culvert. The vehicle then crossed Springfield Rd. striking a culvert wall on the east side of the road.

The driver, Claire Laib, 69, was flown to University of Cincinnati Hospital for treatment.

Authorities say that she told them she apparently fell asleep at the wheel.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department was assisted on the scene by the Drewersberg and College Corner Volunteer Fire Departments, Drewersberg EMS and Rescue 24.
