New Castle Trio Charged In Whitewater River Attack

BROOKVILLE – An Ohio man was rushed to the hospital after three men beat and robbed him on the Whitewater River, police said.

Witnesses told police that Logan Binnion, 21, of Spencerville, Ohio, was struck by a canoe paddle and had his head submerged underwater during the attack on Friday, August 8.

Binnion was treated for facial and head injuries at McCollough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio.

Bystanders said the injuries were caused by three suspects who have been taken into custody.

They are Kyle Eaton, 28, of New Castle, Daniel Weston Jr., 22, of New Castle, and Robert Vaughn, 26, of New Castle.

Eaton and Weston Jr. are facing felony aggravated robbery and battery charges. Vaughn is facing one felony count of aggravated robbery.
