Mrs. Mary Margaret (Macrander) Roach, age 87, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on February 4, 1929, in Posey Township in Patriot, Indiana to James O. and Naomi Margaret Sue Macrander Rein. Mary was a 1946 graduate of the Patriot High School in Patriot, Indiana. Mary was united in marriage on March 1, 1947, in Rising Sun, Indiana to the late, Earl F. “Rick” Roach and to this union arrived a son, Danny Ray to bless their home on March 24, 1949. Mary and Rick shared 42 years of marriage together until Rick passed away on May 21, 1989. Mary was a former book keeper for the Patriot Water Company in Patriot, Indiana, for several years. She was a member of the Patriot Baptist Church in Patriot, Indiana since 1942. Along with several other young people, Mary was baptized in the Ohio River. Mary was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed quilting, crocheting and reading western novels. Mary will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Mary passed away at 7:51 am, Friday, July 22, 2016, at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.
Mary will be dearly missed by her son: Danny Ray Roach of Youngstown, OH; her grandchildren: David Roach of Monroe, MI, Cheryl Roach of Tennessee and Donnie Williams of Nappanee, IN; her great-grandchildren: Ashley Ann, James, Lisa, Marsha, Josh, Kenny and David Wayne Roach II; her great-great-grandchildren: Nathan and Jayden Roach and several other great-great-grandchildren; her step-great-great-granddaughter: Cloe Taylor and her dear friend: Linda Smith of Patriot, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents: James O. Macrander and Naomi (See) Macrander Rein; her step-father: Jacob Rein; her brothers: Louis, Robert and James Macrander.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 25, 2016, at 1:00 pm, by Rev. Mike Jones at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery, Patriot, Indiana.
