Local bluegrass band My Brother’s Keeper will begin a summer tour next week.

Four members make up the band including siblings Joshua, Benjamin and Titus Luckhaupt, along with Franklin County High School graduate Wyatt Murray.

The band will have several stops along the tour, including in New York City, Philadelphia and Washington D.C.

“We were like eventually we have to and want to do music full time, so we have to try it,” guitarist Benjamin Luckhaupt said. “We booked most of the tour independently, so we put a lot of work into it.”

It is exciting and we get to play music full time this summer!”

With influences ranging a wide spectrum of musical genres, My Brother’s Keeper is a Bluegrass/Folk band with a contemporary sound, energetic live shows, creative musicianship and positive lyrics.

The band finished in second place in the Safe Auto Do The Jingle Contest in February.

My Brother’s Keeper will perform during this weekend’s Happy Valley Bluegrass Festival on Hickory Rd. in Franklin County. They will take the stage at 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
