Lady Trojans VB Teams Win Against Lady Knights

VolleyballAll three EC volleyball teams swept South Dearborn in straight sets tonight.
Varsity won 25-16, 25-11, and 25-13.

EC vs SD Varsity VB (9-11)

It was a night full of challenges that resulted in all three teams playing back-to-back-to-back. The girls adjusted well and came ready to play.
We started the match with our normal lineup and for most of the seniors, game one was the only time they saw the court. All of our juniors and sophomore Sarah Hornbach finished out the rest of the match under the leadership of our senior setters.

The juniors were given a chance to show the coaches what they could bring to the team. We have a lot of talent and we are at the midway point in the season so they had to prove why they should be on the court. I’m actually happier with how they played in games two and three than I am with our “normal” line-up in game one. They came to play and it showed.

‘I’m proud of the girls for adjusting to three different line-ups. We tend to get comfortable playing next to certain people, so it can be a challenge to play next to someone different. They all stepped up and played hard.’  EC Coach Cassie Laker.

Varsity is now 10-4 on the season and 6-0 in conference play.

East Central Junior Varsity came out on top 25-9 and 25-7.

Serves Becca Eckstein 7/7 1 ace, Leah Broderick 10/10 3 aces, Brianna Hart 10/11 2 aces, Therese Gregg 6/6 1 ace.  Attacks Breanne Fox 6/6 kills, Kylie Gindling 8/0 3 kills.  Assists Becca Eckstein 10, Leah Broderick 5.

‘We dominated the games with our serves having only 2 errors. I’m proud to see the improvements the girls have made this season.’  EC Coach Bernice Rosemeyer.
