The Batesville Lady Bulldogs defeated the Rushville Lady Lions by a score of 9-0 in their first EIAC match of the season.
The Lady Bulldogs were led in scoring by Mary Elizabeth Elkins with a hat trick, Morgan Puente with 2 goals, Shelby Rupp with 2 goals, and Bailee Rohlfing and Audrey Weigel with 1 goal a piece. Many of Batesville’s goals came in the form of a rebound.
“Our forwards did a good job of following our shots today and were able to get a few easy goals by out hustling our opponents to the ball.” Batesville outshot Rushville 66-0. “Our defenders did a great job of handling any counter-attacks Rushville brought forward and didn’t allow a shot today. They also did a much better job than Tuesday with bringing the ball forward and staying connected with our midfielders.” Batesville Coach Kyle Laker.
The Lady Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday as they face the New Palestine Dragons.
