Kroger Cutting Insurance For Indiana Spouses

Kroger is dropping health insurance coverage for the spouses of its Indiana employees.

The company says the plan was overwhelmingly approved by its Indiana unions and employees will get annual pay increases as part of the deal. The controversial change will go into effect January 1, 2014.

Kroger is the nation’s largest grocery store chain, ranked #23 on the Fortune 500 list with nearly $100 billion in revenue.
