Track & FieldOn April 8, The Jac-Cen-Del Varsity Track traveled to Lawerenceburg for a 5 way meet. Teams also included where South Ripley, Shawe Memorial and Oldenburg. Boys finished 4th and Girls 3rd in the meet.

Highlights for JCD is:  Ladies-Kelsey Bowling 1st 100H-17.97, 3rd 300H-55.84 , 2nd Long Jump -15’6″; Jenna Hughes 3rd 1600M-6:09, 2nd 800M-2:42, 1st High Jump-4’10″; Abby Wagner 4th 100M-14.35; Kayla Bowling 3rd Long Jump-13’4″;
Rosie Newhart 1st Shot -30’2″, 1st Discus- 80’7″; Sasha Wagner 3rd High Jump-4’8″; and Celest DeChristopher 5th Shot-23′.

Mens-Eli Wagner 3rd 100M-11.9; Chris Kissel 4th 1600M-5:15, 5th 800M-2:35; Rodney Dobbs 3rd 1600M-5:10; Jacob Dodge 5th 3200- 14:30; Tyler Johnson 2nd Shot- 40′, 1st Discus-117’7″; Chris Douglas 5th Discus- 70’7; and John Schmitt- 3rd HighJump-4’10”.

On April 10th, The JCD Varsity Track team traveled to Switzerland Co. for
a 3way meet. Other team included Rising Sun.

Boys finished 3rd and Girls 2nd.
Girls: Switzerland 1st-73, JCD 2nd-43, Rising Sun 3rd-35,
Boys: Rising Sun 1st-65, Switzerland 2nd-49, JCD 3rd- 35

St. Louis Catholic Church is having their Mock Turtle Soup Sale! Monday, September 15- noon-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 16- 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 17-Friday, September 19- 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Sunday, September 21- during the annual St. Louis Church Festival, theMock Turtle Soup will be available for sale until it’s gone. Please enter through the Activity Center doors only! The soup will also be available through the week at Schmidt’s Bakery during their normal business hours. If you have any empty quart, half-gallon, or gallon jars you can spare (or canning lids and/or rings), you can bring them to the SLS Activity Center or Schmidt’s Bakery, as jars and lids are still needed to bottle the soup throughout the week.

Friends of Batesville Memorial Public Library is having their used book and media sale on Sept. 18-20, Thurs-Sat. from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. at the Library Annex on 10 W. Boehringer St.  Prices range from 25 cents to $1.  Special sale is $2 per bag on Saturday at 3 p.m. Over 8,000 books are available.
