James Loomis

James R. Loomis, of Sunman, was born on August 18, 1945 in Hamilton, Ohio to James and Evelyn Loomis.  James was a Vietnam Veteran, having served his country in the United States Marines.  He was a truck driver and laborer most of his life and enjoyed the membership of the St. Leon Post #464 American Legion.  James had a passion for animals, his favorite being his dog “Choo Choo.”  He also loved riding horses and spending time with his friends and family-especially his grandchildren.  On June 20, 2016, at the age of 70, James passed away at his residence.

 

Those surviving who will cherish James’ memory include daughter, Nikko Lemon of Tampa, FL, son, James E. (Corrise) Loomis of Sunman; girlfriend, Edith Powers of Sunman; grandchildren, Sherica and Trina Lemon, and Dakota and Jack Loomis; step-children, Leah Claire of New Castle, Danny Patrick of Columbus, OH; 7 step-grandchildren, and brother Richard Loomis.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Sharon Loomis.

 

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. till time of service at 12:30 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman. Burial will follow in the Indiana Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
