Four people were hospitalized after a car accident on U.S. 52 near Hyde Road on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, a 2009 Ford F150 operated by Jesse Barton, 29, of Brookville, failed to yield when pulling out from Hyde Road. His vehicle was struck by a 1990 Ford Mustang convertible driven by Peter Schalk, 22, of West Harrison.

18-year-old Heath Bauman of Brookville attempted to avoid the collision and veered into the west bound lane where the 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle he was driving struck the F150 driven by Barton.

Peter Schalk and a passenger, Clayton Schalk, 20, were transported to McCullough-Hyde Hospital in Oxford.

Heath Bauman and a passenger in his vehicle, Tristan Nevels, 18, of Brookville, were transported to Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati.
