Batesville 7th grade escaped with a 33-29 win over Crosstown Rival St. Louis school.

Batesville was up 11 at half and scored only 4 points over the last 8 minutes of the game.  Batesville was led in points by Cooper Williams with 10, Trey Heidlage with 6, and Sam Haskamp with 5.  Defensively, Heidlage did a great job defending St. Louis’s top scorer.  Luke Belter was a monster on the glass recording 11 rebounds. Alex Westerfeld came off the bench to provide a spark with 5 rebounds and 4 points.  Sam Haskamp also led the team with 5 deflections.

“Our offense is very inconsistent. We’re moving the ball and getting open looks, but we’re having trouble making those shots.  We still have work to do defensively, but it’s getting better.  The lack of practice time over the last week is showing up in the games so we desperately need to work on more fundamentals to get better for January.”  Batesville Coach Eric Feller.

BMS will be in action Thursday night vs Sunman Dearborn.
