Audrey J. Doyle, 89, of Holton passed away at 1:30pm Sunday, February 14, 2016 at the home of her daughter near Batesville. She was born at Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 1, 1926 the daughter of Carl H. and Violet Jadischke Lipke. She was married to Marvin “Brook” Doyle on September 4, 1948 and he preceded her in death 16 years ago on February 14, 2000. Survivors include two daughters Esther (Doug) Krieger of Batesville and Gloria (Don) Comer of Holton; 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; one sister Dianne Dilger of Cameron Park, California. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters Lila Zarnott and Elizabeth Lipke. Mrs. Doyle was raised in Milwaukee and met her future husband while he was serving in the US Navy. She was a homemaker and in her younger years was employed with the Nunn-Bush Shoe Factory in Milwaukee. Audrey had also served as the custodian for the Hopewell Baptist Church of which she was a 40 year member. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 18th at 11am at the Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. Ty Choate officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Thursday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Hopewell building fund or the Hospice of Margaret Mary Hospital in care of the funeral home.
