(Greensburg, IN) – Both Greensburg City Council and the Board of Works received good news on the Washington Street improvement project Wednesday night.
Public Projects Director Zach Wirrig says milling operations are going on around the courthouse square before crews continue down Washington, North Broadway, and 1st Street.
Paving is expected to be done by Friday, weather permitting.
Wirrig adds crews are getting things wrapped up and ready to go for this weekend’s activities on the square as well as the Tree City Fall Festival on September 19 and 20.
He says striping crews will be in on Monday to work on parking spots.
The multi-phase project kicked off last fall.
It’s is funded by a Community Crossings Matching Grant (CCMG) from INDOT, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, the State of Indiana’s Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI), American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, and a local match.
