Walter ”Herb” Brock III, of Milan, was born on May 14, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Walter Herbert and Doris May (Truitt) Brock II. Forty-four years ago, he married the love of his life, Helen Marie Palmer on August 17, 1974, at the Sunman Community Church. They were blessed with three children – Mendi, Herbie, and Ronda; along with five grandchildren. Herb began his career at Brandes Sawmill in Milan, eventually becoming the head sawyer and foreman. He retired as a hand jack/buffer from Delta Faucet in Greensburg. He was a motorcycle enthusiast – a member of Harley of Cochran, along with AA in Milan. Herb will be remembered as a hardworking and dedicated family man. On Friday, March 30, Herb passed away at his residence.
Those surviving who will cherish Herb’s memory include his loving wife, Helen; children, Mendi (Josh) Tidwell of Sunman, Walter “Herbie” (Kayla) Brock IV of Lawrenceburg, and Ronda Brock (John) of Milan; grandchildren, Hunter, Josilyn and Jonas Tidwell, Creedence Heon, and Walter Herbert Brock V. He is also survived by ten siblings, Jarrett, Sandy, Jeannie, Trudy, Ronda, Jon, Diana, Judy, Todd, and Matt; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Herb was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Denise.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, April 7, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman. The funeral service, officiated by Tim Holloran of HOC, will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
