Vicky Lee (Carter) Carpenter, 69, of Milan passed away Saturday June 17, 2023 at her home with her loving family by her side. Vicky was born on Monday, January 4, 1954 in Ohio; daughter of Donald and Phyllis (Wright) Carter. Vicky married the love of her life, Winifred Carpenter on December 27, 1988 and he survives. Vicky worked as a CNA in Milan and worked as an apprentice for the local plumber’s /pipefitter’s union in Kentucky. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, crafting, reading, dancing, and cooking. She was an avid animal lover. She loved to go out on the pontoon boat and going to car shows with Winifred. Vicky most of all cherished spending time with her family.
Vicky will be missed by her husband, Winifred Carpenter of Milan; son Dallas “DJ” Richter Jr. of Manchester; step-son Mark Carpenter of Winchester, Kentucky; daughters Tonia Richter of Sunman, Sherry (Brian) Butler of Milan, Sharon (Mike) Cooper of LaVergne, Tennessee, and Brook (Michael) Wright of Georgetown, Kentucky; step-daughter Tina (Jimmy) Ellison of Corbin, Kentucky; brother Danny (Lisa) Carter of Moores Hill; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Vicky was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Phyllis Carter; brother Ronnie Carter; sister Sherry Merida; sister-in-law Gail Carter; and brother-in-law Wayne Merida.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 6-7 PM Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. A service will immediately follow at 7 PM with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. Memorials may be given in honor of Vicky to PAWS of Dearborn County.
