UPDATE: One Killed in Crash Near Milan

(Ripley County, IN) – A head-on crash in eastern Ripley County Wednesday night claimed the life of a Milan man and injured two others.

Indiana State Police say a minivan driven by 62-year-old George Frith was westbound along the 8,000 block of State Road 350 around 7:15 p.m. when, for an unknown reason, it crossed the center line and collided with an SUV driven by 31-year-old Shelby Young of Aurora.

Frith was pronounced dead at the scene.

Young and an infant in her vehicle were treated for minor injuries.

State Road 350 was closed for approximately four hours for investigation and cleanup.

Toxicology results are pending, and the crash remains under investigation.

Trooper Clayton Saltzman conducted the initial investigation and was assisted at the scene by the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post Crash Reconstruction Team, the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office, Milan Police Department, the Milan and Aurora fire departments, Moores Hill Fire and EMS, Ripley County EMS, and the Ripley County Coroner’s Office.

(Ripley County, IN) – At least one person was killed in a crash on State Road 350 near Milan Wednesday night.

Both lanes of 350 were shut down between County Line Road and County Road 800 East from just before 8 p.m. until around 11:00 for the initial investigation.

It’s not clear how many vehicles were involved or if anyone else was injured.

Indiana State Police troopers are investigating.
