(Ripley County, IN) – Three Ripley County Sheriff’s deputies were among 64 recent graduates of the Indiana Sheriff’s Association’s (ISA) West Point Leadership Academy.
They are Adam Hunger, Bob Curl and Conrad Reichert III.
The academy trained commanders from sheriff’s offices from across the state.
ISA says this program represents a significant step forward in law enforcement leadership development within Indiana, and prepares commanders to navigate the complexities of modern policing with integrity and strategic insight.
Retired Sheriff Steve Luce, Executive Director of the ISA, emphasized the significance of this milestone.
“This program exemplifies our commitment to developing leaders who are prepared to meet the evolving challenges of law enforcement,” Luce said.
ISA President Sheriff Daniel Mawhorr highlighted the program’s impact.
“By investing in our commanders’ education, we are strengthening our agencies and better serving our communities,” Mawhorr said.
“The curriculum is designed to equip leaders with the skills necessary for effective decision-making and strategic planning,” said Dr. Dave Mather, who is a key contributor to the program.
The foundation of the course is “about understanding human behavior, including our own, and learning to lead people more effectively in today’s dynamic public safety environment,” said Dr. Mitch Javidi founder of the National Command & Staff College. “Our collaboration with the ISA reflects a shared vision of fostering excellence and resilience among law enforcement leaders.”
