Theresa J. Kinker, age 80 of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024, at St. Andrew’s Health Campus in Batesville, Indiana. Born October 9, 1943, in Batesville, she is the daughter of Elmer and Eunice (Nee: Puccini) Ollier. She married Louis A. Kinker on March 3, 1962, in Enochsburg, Indiana. This union brought forth three children Kirt, Kimberly, and Kristine. She attended St. Louis School in Batesville and then the Immaculate Conception Academy in Oldenburg.
Theresa was devoted to her family as well as to her Margaret Mary Health (MMCH) family of 30+ years as a Nurse’s Aide before retiring. She was also a Homemaker/Farmer’s wife, and she coached both of her daughter’s softball teams for many years. She was a huge fan of the North Decatur Football team and was known by many as the “Cowbell Mom”. She was an avid golfer and was a member of the Ladies Golf League at North Branch Golf Course.
Theresa was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Enochsburg and she made the Mock Turtle Soup for many, many years for their annual church picnic. This ministry was considered by her as a labor of love.
She was an awesome cook, especially her famous Sunday fried chicken and gravy, with green beans, rolls and to not forget her homemade pies.
After retirement, she and Louis spent their wintertime in Zephyrhills, Florida for over 10 years.
She is survived by her husband Louis of Greensburg; son Kirt (Doris–close friend) Kinker of Durango, Colorado; daughters Kimberly Kinker and Kristine (Greg) Brown, all of Batesville; grandchildren Danielle, Kody, and Brian, all of Durango, Colorado and Kyle who is serving his country in the US Navy stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; great grandchildren Gavin and Jakob of Durango, Colorado; sister Vyona Borchelt of Batesville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Rodney, Kean, and Guy Ollier.
Calling will be held Friday, March 8th, from 4 – 7 p.m., at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 9th, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church (St. John Campus) in Enochsburg, with Fr. Bill Ehalt officiating.
