BATESVILLE, IN — An iconic lynchpin of downtown Batesville is on the block.
The Sherman is for sale and is listed for $3.8 million with Meisberger and Associates Real Estate.
The restaurant and hotel opened its doors in 1852 – the same year Batesville was established. It has been the centerpiece of the downtown area since then and was formerly known as The Sherman House.
The Sherman has undergone renovations in recent years under its current ownership, including refurbished rooms and the addition of a Biergarten, Bier Hall, barroom, and event center.
Despite the buying and selling process going on, WRBI has learned that The Sherman will stay open.
