Teen Injured in Hunting Accident

Indiana Conservation OfficerSWITZERLAND COUNTY, Ind. — A 17 year old was injured in a hunting accident in Switzerland County Sunday morning.

At 7:45 AM, Conservation Officers were dispatched to Vevay, where they found Caleb Claypoole, 17, with a gunshot wound in his leg.

When officers arrived, Claypoole informed them that he had been deer hunting on private property with 2 friends, and that he accidentally discharged his firearm, which resulted in the injury to his leg.

Claypoole was airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Indiana Conservation Officers are still investigating this incident.
