Jackson County, IN — A two-vehicle crash on US 31 near Seymour, Indiana on Sunday sent a motorcyclist to a Louisville, Kentucky hospital with serious injuries.
The initial investigation by Trooper Seth Davidson, Indiana State Police, determined that a black 1994 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, being driven by Jeremy L. Longbrake, age 45, Seymour, Indiana was traveling southbound on US 31, just south of US 50. A black 2019 Honda CR-V, being driven by William W. Gordon, age 83, Avon, Indiana pulled onto US 31 into the path of Longbrake’s motorcycle.
Longbrake’s motorcycle struck the driver’s side of Gordon’s vehicle. As a result of the collision, Longbrake was thrown from the motorcycle. Longbrake, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained serious injuries in the crash. He was flown from the scene to the University of Louisville Medical Center by Stat Flight Medical Helicopter. Gordon was not injured in the crash.
Although alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors in the crash, Gordon was transported to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana where he submitted to a blood draw.
The investigation is ongoing.
