St. Louis students get a military lesson

Batesville, In. — For the first time is SLS history, 37 junior high students enjoyed Sergeant Anthony Alexander’s Army presentation in Mrs. Rose’s literature class.  Sergeant Alexander covered what it takes to enter the military from junior high to high school, stay in a branch, and the opportunities individuals have to serve our country.  With 150 different professions offered in the Army, Sergeant Alexander spoke of the top importance to all branches….math and English classes!

He mentioned many, many times that games and simulations may be fun, but the military only wants the disciplined, hard-working individuals to serve this great country.  Ultimately, this means they MUST do well and take seriously both math and English.  With less than 1% of civilians entering military life, we NEED this to protect our beautiful freedoms.  Thank you, Sergeant Alexander, for serving the mission of bringing the next group of military personnel to the front lines.
